We warmly welcome you to Pumula Game Farm, situated in the picturesque Waterberg Mountains between Bela-Bela (Warmbaths) and Modimolle (Nylstroom). The Waterberg is the first region in the north of South Africa to be declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.
“Pumula” is the Zulu word for “Place of Rest” and this is what we hope you do when you visit us. In 2007 the farm converted one of its houses into a high-end self-catering unit. Since then a total of 4 self-catering units have been added and we are in the process of building 2 campsites (Ukuzwana, meaning "harmony" and Ezolile meaning "tranquillity".
Our self-catering units are:
Themba: meaning "faith", sleeps 8
Jabulani: meaning "joy", sleeps 6
Thanda: meaning "love", sleeps 2 adults and 2 children under 12
Thulile: meaning "peace", sleeps 2 adults and 2 children under 12
It was also in 2013 that Pumula was first awarded a 4 Star grading with the TGCSA and we still maintain this status today.
Your hosts, Bart and Marcelle Ridder (South African and Dutch) have been living in Africa (Kenya, Ethiopia and Uganda) for over 16 years and have visited many places in the world. We have been dreaming of owning and running our own lodge for many years and are still shocked that this dream has become a reality.
It is our wish that every guest staying at Pumula Game Farm, will experience Hope, Peace, Love, Joy, Harmony and Tranquillity when visiting.
We look forward to welcoming you to our sacred piece of bushveld.
